Great move! I have seen a few people do the opposite and I think that's foolish. The base Hive is more important than HBD but HBD is seen as an easier number for many. If the price goes x5 from where it's at now, having it in Hive Power instead of HBD is going to be huge!

Definitely yes. I think many are still scared to fully invest in a lower cap altcoin and HBD seems like a safe bet right now, evenmore if it earns 20% APR.
