I hope that future airdrops on hive and leo generate more attention in the crypto world, because among all the crypto fads that come and go, airdrops seem consistently popular

Airdrops are a way of token distribution.
I disagree with this statement. I hope they dont because airdrop chasers tend to create a short term pump going into the drop and then dumping the main token. Then they compound it by dumping the airdropped token.
Better if the drop takes place to those who are going to hodl and support whatever is being dropped.
I think 3Speak is doing it well. Do a claimdrop. Then what is left over and unclaimed, pool that and divide it among strategic partners to distribute to their users through engagement.

Not really. If you take that approach, you will miss out.
3Speak is a claim drop, meaning that the tokens have to be claimed over the course of a year is their timeline. Those who do not do it, will end up missing out.
An airdrop is given to each users, they just show up.
