I've just read an article that the EU has plans to invest 10 billion euros in blockchain technology and AI so that it can catch up with the US and China. So more and more countries are waking up to the fact that blockchain is a train they don't want to miss

Yes although it makes me wonder when countries or governments start talking about blockchain. What are they really talking about? I do not believe they are discussing what we are part of: decentralized, immutable.

Perhaps it is talking about investing in companies that are building on the permissionless blockchains.

If governments express an interest in blockchain and cryptocurrency, it's to find a way which defeats the most important reason for them: decentalization. Rare is the government which permits dcentralization and the loss of control associated with it.
