You are working to find your voice. Sometimes that comes from interacting with articles you find interesting and want to share your thoughts about them. Its a great way to learn and clarify how you feel about the trends you read about. Spinning isnt a good way to do it. But quoting and explaining your positions works and it is actually helpful to your readers.
