Our past week in validating for the Cosmos ecosystem world was certainly a busy one. Our EVMOS claim drop started, not without any issues, but actually going much smoother than we expected.
Our DAO has done extremely well over the last couple of weeks and we have been steadily increasing our donated tree count! We are going to be soon sending all of the USDC funds directly to the DAO and voting will begin this month!
We have lost some delegations from what looks like people hunting for airdrops since we have already done our snapshot and now commencing the claim drop. This was expected, but we want to remind the community that staking with is also like being a part of a community that is doing good for the environment. This also is a way for you to be a part of something bigger than yourself! This is how we are looking at it on a personal level as well! carbonZERO exists to try and do some good things with this magical internet money!
Moving Our Nodes Away From Hetzner
We are also in the process of moving all of the infrastructure that we had on Hetzner, and distributing it between other blockchain-friendly hosts, all while still maintaining our consistent uptime. The entire migration will be finished by the end of the week.
For those that do not know, Hetzner is a data center that hosts a large amount of nodes in the entire blockchain space, not just Cosmos. They came out this past week and stated that we all were in violation of their terms of service. So this has caused us to find different data centers and also given us the opportunity to decentralize our validators across the world.
We are keeping our JUNO node alive for now, even though we're in the INACTIVE set in hopes that we can get some support on JUNO, but it hasn't been too pretty. But without the revenue coming in, we will have to make a final decision at some point in the near future. In the meantime, we are on the lookout for new validation opportunities.
EVMOS Delegator Claim Drop
We started our claim drop on Friday, Sept 2, and we are going to put a hard claim date of Sept, 30. So, if you haven't yet claimed your cZERO tokens, you can check out the Claim Drop post for all of the information.
Once you claim your tokens, you can then go stake them in our DAO on Juno's DAODAO!

Trees Planted by the carbonZERO DAO
This week, our carbonZERO DAO was able to plant 1495 trees with Ecologi which brings us up to a total of 12,468 trees! The growth has been amazing to see! So know that when you stake with carbonZERO, you are doing good for the environment at the same time!

As always, the USDC was moved to ATOM using Osmosis then to Kraken where it was sold for fiat and withdrawn for donating to Ecologi.
The JUNO will be exchanged for USDC and we will donate it for ecological purposes, unless we can get back into the active set and our snapshot clock will restart.
The EVMOS currently being held will be distributed to delegators that qualified for our cZERO token claim drop later this week! This is the 10% of commissions we were using for rebates as a thank you.
Beyond this, we will not do more rebates as that can get us into a sticky situation with regulators in the US. On top of that, the community looks at it as circumventing minimum commission requirements for different blockchains. So what we will do is use this 10% to build a development fund where we can help grow the ecosystem by funding development. The DAO token stakeholders will have a say in how we invest these funds for tools and dapp development! This will help us go beyond validating and also become developers in the space!
Moving Forward This Week
We are going to be continuing to process claim drop batches for our EVMOS delegators until the end of the month when we will close off the claim. This is ample time for people to get in and claim their tokens. We understand that the process may be a bit much so feel free to reach out to us on Twitter or on our Discord server if you need help! Hopefully any airdrops we do in the future will be much easier, EVMOS is just a different beast than other IBC blockchains.
We are also actively looking for new chains to jump on, even new testnets. We are also going to be producing some educational articles that will help people better understand some of the Web 3 processes. We have seen the different levels of skill with a lot of the community with the airdrop and we want to address some things that can not only help you with our DAO and token but with others as well!
