A Journey Through Time: Summary of 10,000 BC

10,000 BC, a film released in 2008, tells a gripping tale of love, bravery, and survival set against the backdrop of prehistoric life. The narrative follows a young warrior’s quest to rescue his fiancée after an enemy tribe captures her, leading him on a perilous journey filled with challenges from wild beasts and rival tribes.

The Prophecy and the Yakal Tribe

Part 2/9:

The story begins in the yakal tribe during hunting season when a group of tribesmen discovers a blue-eyed girl in the mountains. They deem her significant and take her to the Great Sage, known as the Old Mother. Through a mystical connection, she foresees that the girl’s presence signifies impending doom for the yakal tribe but assures them that a warrior will save them, and the girl, named Eveet, will become that warrior's wife.

Part 3/9:

A seed of doubt is planted by Eveet’s father, the tribe's chief, who is skeptical of the prophecy. As winter approaches and food becomes scarce due to the unsuccessful mammoth hunt, a young man named Delay, labeled as the "son of a coward" following his father’s disappearance during a food-seeking expedition, struggles with his identity and his feelings for Eveet. Over time, the two loners unite, strengthening their bond as they both feel out of place in their tribe.

Rise of the New Chief

Part 4/9:

Years pass, and the once-young pair become adults. The hero’s challenge begins when the tribe prepares for another mammoth hunt, a contest that would crown a new chief. Delay is determined to prove his worth against his rival, Karin, an excellent hunter favored by many. When a mammoth is sighted, the hunting party aims to capture it, but while the others follow Karin, Delay acts independently and, amid a chaotic chase, manages to kill the mammoth through sheer luck.

To his surprise, Delay gains significant respect and the privilege to marry Eveet, transforming from the “son of a coward” to a celebrated hero. However, his triumph is shadowed by doubt; he struggles with feelings of unworthiness, eventually leading him to return the white spear, worried he did not earn it through skill.

Part 5/9:

The Attack and the Quest for Rescue

The joy of the engagement is short-lived. When the rival tribe launches a surprise attack, the yakal tribe is devastated, and Delay witnesses the capture of Eveet amidst the chaos. After the destruction, he vows to rescue her and is joined by Tick Tick, a trusted friend, and Karin, another skilled warrior. They embark on a dangerous pursuit into the wilderness, guided by Delay’s fierce determination.

During this journey, Delay encounters numerous adversities, including treacherous terrain and fearsome predators, showcasing both his physical courage and emotional depth. A highlight of his journey is when he helps a saber-toothed tiger escape a drowning predicament, further reinforced by the bond that forms between them.

Alliances and Revelations

Part 6/9:

Delay and his friends find themselves amidst various tribes, learning about their own people’s lore and legends. He discovers that he must guide warriors to the “Mountain of the Gods,” a notorious prison for captives, where many from his tribe—including Eveet—are held. Delay is revealed to be the prophesied warrior who can communicate with the saber-toothed tiger, which adds a mythical element to his journey.

As they rally additional tribes against the cruel warlord and his army, the buildup of warriors showcases a powerful alliance. They march with new hope and an unwavering resolve to save their loved ones as the danger intensifies.

The Infiltration and the Final Battle

Part 7/9:

The tale crescendos in a climax where Delay infiltrates the stronghold of their captors. During a dramatic confrontation, Delay and Tick Tick’s plans to rescue captives unfold, though it comes with staggering costs, including the death of Tick Tick, who passes the white spear to Delay, sealing his legacy of sacrifice.

Meanwhile, Eveet finds herself in peril; she has become a pawn in the warlord’s schemes just as Delay prepares for the climactic battle. As they confront overwhelming enemies, the survivors of the yakal tribe, inspired by their newfound confidence, rally together.

In a gripping final night of combat, Delay faces the warlord while simultaneously dealing with the emotional turmoil of Eveet’s fate. Eventually, Delay emerges victorious, but only after tragic losses.

Part 8/9:

The Resurrection and New Beginnings

The film culminates in a twist of fate when Old Mother, in her last moments, sacrifices herself, allowing Eveet to be resurrected and reunited with Delay. After their arduous journey and the resurrected life of Eveet, the young couple returns to lead their tribe into a new era.

Thanks to the promising seeds given by an allied tribe leader, along with Delay's leadership, the yakal tribe begins to cultivate the land, ensuring they will never face famine again. The journey not only transforms Delay and Eveet but also brings hope and sustenance to their people.
