It'll certainly be interesting to see this play out. Like you, I don't think the SEC will win this one since Coinbase has painstakingly complied with everything. I've been with them for years. Sure, there were extra steps involved now compared to years ago, but the last thing you want is the Tax Man hot on your trail over a misstep.
