It's time to look at what is happening on The Open Network(TON) and its world of everlasting grind of mini-apps. Airdrops are announced and happening while apps keep popping up like mushrooms in the rain. In this post, I am going to share news, airdrops, and new mini-apps that I find most interesting.

Catizen Drama

Yesterday the cute cat game, Catizen, airdropped their $CATI token to loyal players. It didn't go without some airdrop drama which we are so used to these days.

It seems that most Silver League players got only 2 $CATI tokens when the airdrop favored those who had spent money on the game. Nothing wrong with that even though I saw many commenting that they weren't that happy with their allocation even after spending $30-$50 to upgrade those cats.

I received 6.65 $CATI for playing in the Gold League. I wasn't very active in doing those check-in tasks that required small amounts of $TON to complete so I guess I can't complain. Interesting to see the launch price of $CATI though. While waiting for that I staked my tokens on Gate.io to earn 742% APY paid in GT tokens. Note that the APY will most likely go down in time.

$CATI unlocks on September 24th and I assume we'll know the value of it by then.

Rocky Rabbit Airdrop Very Soon

The bulky rabbit of the Rocky Rabbit game will airdrop his $RBTC (RabBitcoin) tokens on the 22nd of September while the snapshot will be taken on the 21st.

However, to be eligible to receive this drop you need to do a couple of tasks. First, connect your wallet. There are five options including Telegram Wallet & Gate.io. I used the Bitget wallet option. Then you need to make a small TON transaction(0.5 TON, 2-3 dollars) and subscribe to the Rocky Rabbit TG channel.

So there are 6 days left until the snapshot and I plan to grind this like crazy. There are about as many monthly users as Catizen has so this might be a little diluted as well. No high hopes but fingers still crossed!

Hamster Kombat - Set Up Your Wallet

The much anticipated $HMSTR token will be airdropped to players and to be listed on major exchanges such as Binance on the 26th of September.

So before that date, remember to set the wallet in which you want to receive your tokens. Here are the options:

If you haven't been playing Hamster Kombat, it might be late to join this airdrop but I do recommend checking out the app as I believe Hamster will be a big deal in the TON ecosystem in the future.

Conclusion

It's interesting to see if the TON mini-app craziness can still heat up from this or if will we witness a similar downfall that happened with "traditional" airdrop hunting. Still, it's good to keep in mind that there haven't been that many TON airdrops yet. Notcoin was the first, then came the $DOGS drop which btw, was pretty good, and just yesterday the $CATI allocation.

With these mini-apps, I believe there are some pretty good opportunities and a nice amount of money to be made with not that much effort. TON itself has awesome growth potential and with the upcoming bull run, I think swapping some of these airdrops to $TON might not be such a bad idea...
