Those numbers are a lot lower than I would have expected for the crypto question. Probably still higher than they were five to ten years ago. I think there is a huge different between something being acceptable and people understanding why someone might have done it. It's definitely not acceptable to just kill someone, but I can understand why he might have done it. I think that just goes towards my belief that many people don't empathise with other people. Either that or they can't separate the idea that just because you empathize with someone doesn't mean you agree with the actions they took.
I think it is the small sample size.
The focus is on "how I feel" now. The idea of we are all in this world together seems to escaped the majority of people and definitely, the controlling minority of people.
That's likely a good point about the sample size being low.
