I had to Google shield limpet to find out what it is. I can’t say that I’ve ever seen a live one before (not one moving on the beach anyway), but I’ve seen a lot of very similar looking shells in Japan.

I also don’t feel moved by literature much anymore. That could be related to the fact that I don’t read nearly as much as I used to, or it could have something to do with me not being able to pick up books and be swept away by them like I used to.

When I was younger, I think was intrigued by all the things I read about that I had never done, and maybe even the way that I imagined they would be like. Now that I’m older and have experienced many more things, probably more so than a lot of the characters that I used to like, literature doesn’t have the effect in me that it was did.

Same. Us poor jaded souls. The last book that did it for me was Leave The World Behind by Rumaan Alam. It stayed with me long after the final page. I tend not to read much because I can't find anything that grabs me and I don't have faith it will. But jeez... Those moments in literature that grabbed you when you were younger... How incredible. A whole world I knew nothing about. I was meant to join the local book club but the last three books were shite and I felt like such a literature snob I had to quietly give my excuses for not going.

I’ve never heard of that book. I’ll put it on my list of things to look into.

It’s a good thing you’ve got DIY projects; always an excuse to skip the book club. 🤣
