I read an article about social class and how rare it is for a person to get promoted as such into the next social class. So working class rarely make the grade to middle class and middle class rarely make it to upper class. It was a pretty depressing article really but the older I get I believe this is true. There's inflation, interest rates and a whole list of tools that keep us in our social classes. There are the anomalies. Crypto millionaires and its why crypto appeals to many of us. Tech Start Ups but for the 99.8% we stay in our class. Some laugh!
Sometimes I wonder if the anomalies can hold us back - where people in the lower classes feel that they can win the lottery too, because someone has to, right?
It is incredibly hard to change "class" for many reasons, including that we often make similar life decisions to our parents too - after all, we learned from somewhere.
