I have recently being crunching the numbers from Valueplans payouts from January 2024 until April 2024 just gone and plan to do these every quarter going forward . My first post was around the financials involved in Valueplan's largest campaign , the Rally Car. My second Post what around the total payouts to the user account. My 3rd post reviewed the user account values that received payouts. The links to these two posts can be found below

Part I: Valueplan The Numbers Part 1 Rally Car

Part II : Valueplan The Numbers Part II A Review of Payouts By User Account

Part III: Valueplan : User Account Values Who Received Payouts

Part 4 will be around the country that the user is located in that received the payouts. After the overwhelming response I have received from you over the last 3 posts and through Discord I have been asked to clear up what countries the payouts are heading in the direction of. Strange as it seems this was asked of me by a South American user who thinks Venezuela are getting a raw deal from the last set of results that Valueplan released and the comments from the post thereof. So I have decided to look at the payments by continent and country. Now it is hoped that the marketing funding would be spread equally across every continent. Naturally Hive is more popular in some countries more than others so this will never be a perfect science. There are just so many variables to take into account here. Also as Valueplan managers said, it is hard to get some Hive users in countries to do conferences etc.

I will review a few metrics here. We have 42 recipients receiving Valueplan funding from January to end of April. Let us start by continent. Drum roll please..............

*blank is the account I could not pin a country to.

So surprise for some that Europe is top of the list in terms of the continent with the most funding. Now those of you that read my previous post will immediately know that this is skewed somewhat as the rally car is taking up the lions share of not only Europes funding being from Croatia but it is taking up nearly 38% of total funding so Europe was always going to be top of the list with such a substantial outlay. There has been another major funding for a Portuguese handball team as well of over 40k HBD. So in total Europe is taking up 42% of the total Valueplan payouts in the first 4 months of the year. So Mr Discord man. You have been proven right. Us Europeans are taking the cash money. But that is not all. You may not crack the champagne open and declare a moral victory just yet my friend.

Total By Country

Moving onto the next chart we see Venezuela in the picture now when it comes to Valueplan funding by country. Croatia is obviously ranked top here with the Rally Car payouts receiving over $169,000 since January so naturally this is number 1. The rally car photography and videography is also included here in this figure and of course the Vibes Music Initiative is haling from Croatia. But what is going on down in sunny Venezuela with their conferences , events after events, Street workout, Motorbike Racing , Hive Sucre which is a project to get people spending HBD in shops , as well as many other smaller initiatives. You guys are killing it. Even though there were some significant amounts paid out in Europe , Venezuela tops the ranking in terms of the number of Hive users paid out. Out of the 42 users that received Valueplan funding 16 of these users are from Venezuela which is just under 40% of total recipients. There are some groups that have founders who are from different countries including Venezuela in South America but I did not include these into the Venezuela group. Take Hive creators for example. Their founders are from Venezuela and Argentina so I tagged them as South America mixed. If I did do this then the figure would be pushing into the high 40%'s. I plan to come up with a new system for accounting for multi country groups going forward for more transparency.

Difficulties Encountered collating By Country.

This post took me a while as not all the users receiving funding were one user account. The Valueplan guys must have their work cut out tracking all of these groups getting funded. The funding was given to some groups such as Hivearte, Hivestudentshub, Hiverun, music1sound. So I had to track down the owners. @web3global for example was given funding of 3,275 HBD but I can not track who actually owns the account. Where are you guys from??
This was also a good exercise to do because I was conscious there could be one user receiving funds for two different projects. Now there may be noting wrong with that at all. But I propose if a user is doing this then it is best to use the one username rather than start using alt accounts. It just looks shady. One user is involved in the street workout and a motor cycle racing for example. Maybe a limit on the amount of projects funded per person. I am not sure. Maybe, maybe not.
Some users are based in one country and are using the Valueplan funds in another country so it is difficult to allocate the funds by country in this case. For this post I did it by country where the user is from. I may change this going forward to the country the funding is used in.

Value of Money in Different Countries

Now we all know that $5,000 in HBD will go much further in Venezuela than it will in Norway or California for example and there has to be a debate over this with the way funding is given out. A conference in New York will cost a hell of alot more than a conference in Caracus. Valueplan always stress that they do not pay for labour and it is more expenses covered but how long is a piece of string. With Hive being global , should the dev in Switzerland get more funding that the dev in Mozambique for example. I think this is for another day. I was asked by my job to go to the Canary Islands, Spain for 2 years. I was on around 60k going down there. Cost of living was much lower and I lived like a king for 2 years due to the price of everything being so cheap. I got away with it for as long as I could. The question is are there people in the developing countries able to do this for a living?

Opinion Piece

That' s the dream for all of us right? To write a post on Hive every day and live off the rewards. Or is there an even easier way to do it?
When i had 50 workers down in Spain with me to open a shop and they used to all go drinking after work. The company would give them their 50 quid for food every day once they had a receipt to give me. Naturally they would come in at 50 quid on the button every day and we would pay them out. On the button. €50.00. Happy out with big hungover head on them and a load of love bites. It was always the steak dinner with bearnaise sauce from the bar/ restaurant. Always, every one of them even Sally the vegan.
I knew what was happening. The restaurant would issue them a receipt for a steak dinner for 50 euro and they were able to drink to that amount every night. A great time was had by all and I would always look the other way and they were all great workers. But this is how you did it. A free holiday with unlimited drink (50 quid would be more than enough per night) and a weight loss program. And these were bright eyed and bushy tailed kids in their first trip abroad. Imagine the hustle a 45 year old unemployed man from Caracus hustles when he's up against it. A whole different ball game.
Since this job I have actually moved into the area of analysing invoices and how to achieve savings in the likes of expenses, labours, materials. Looking at the descriptions in some payments that are being paid out, there are a few steak dinners being had let me tell you. Half the bloody pictures are of big dinners at these conferences. I said at the beginning of the piece I am not here to make a joke around it but I do think the whole thing needs tightening up. Splinterlands got someone in charge of the DAO now. There was debate over this but considering the amount of assets that the DAO was in charge of , the right decision was made to appoint a trusted Hive and Splinterlands user to give more oversight of the whole operation. It looks to be working and I do think the DHF fund (not just Valueplan) needs someone like this. Valueplan was voted on by a few whales with a massive amount of HP so the marketing arm is the most centralised section of the whole platform I imagine. As a Hive user it is good that we should question where are funds are being allocated which is the reason for these posts. Most don't have a clue and are happy posting away. But some of these marketing campaigns create sell pressure on Hive so they can be detrimental for the Community. A good marketing campaign will bring back a significant amount more that was spent. Some of these projects don't look like they are going to do this but yet we keep funding them. Have they friends in higher places? Who knows? That is the opinion of many on Hive who think Valueplan is not marketing tool at all but more a slush fund for their mates. Who could argue? I can't but yet all I see is people taking advantage of a situation to better their living situation or fund their dream. Valueplan certainly does this but it cannot take precedent over a well run marketing campaign. The bull is nearly here and crypto tokens are going all out on social media using a variety of tools to achieve mass adoption. And they are succeeding. Many on Splinterlands mav chat who are mostly made up of the whales in Splinterland's think Hive is dead. I was shocked when I heard this. Here is one such user doing a rally call (no pun intended) for Splinterlands. And what he said is true.

This bull run is important for the existence of Hive as a blockchain. Mary giving out her 1001st pen in Caracus ain't gonna cut it in this new world. It may be time for change.
