New Year's resolutions... Pathetically, this is my annual New Year's tradition of setting goals that I give up faster than you can say 'diet' or 'gym membership'.
I start with the best of intentions and make big promises to myself, my sons and friends.
But then, somewhere between 2 January and 1 February, something changes and I fall back into my old habits, eat pizza again and snooze like there's no tomorrow.
It's a vicious circle, but hey.... at least it's entertaining for the others. 😂

It's a very good approach! I also learned to not be too hard on myself when life throws me lemons and avoids me from achieve my goals. I used to feel so shit about these things, but now I just think ok, 'schouders eronder weer en gaan met die banaan!" That helps too :)

We didn't have any so far as we lived in homes where we were too far from fireworks, so with a small kid and no car, we just skipped going out all together.
This year I wanted to change that and decided to start a new years tradition with my boyfriend. I already set some things in motion that I wanted to change this year and I decided to sit down together, and write some important focus points for us on a big canvas. We discussed what was important and I painted the words on it.
I will cover the words with a layer of gesso and then create an artwork on top. I hope I can find the right inspiration to create something cool because the plan is to both look at it every day. The subconscious mind remembers the words we wrote on it so that will be a good reminder :)

Every new year it's a tradition to do a family thanksgiving at the church, eat lunch together and then visit some close friends and family members with some gifts too.
For Hive, I've planned on setting quarterly goals, starting with this first quarter as thus.
So for this year 2024, I have resolved to be very very intentional about my activities on Hive. I will strive to
Be active in the community, create more quality and engaging contents.
Concentrate more on organic engagement and curating quality contents too.
Participate and support the community's projects.
Delegate to other viable projects.
Expand my knowledge about crypto.
Grow my Hive stake to 1,500 HP.

My tradition is always to put through phone calls to lots of friends and colleagues. The idea is always to have a good conversation with them to add the needed motivations and ideas and also get motivated too for the new year.

I’ll pin mine on my hive goal which is my tradition for the year or let’s say a daily ritual, which is two goals wrapped in one. First is to get myself the yearly badge, and also indirectly impacts on my writing ability. I hope to grow more better as a writer here on hive. After each post I can wash it down with water which is my motto for 2024, I.e no carbonated drinks and alcohol all thru the year. Did that on the first of January so only left with 364 days to go.😎
