Whenever one interacts with Ethereum, they pay a very small fee. The fees are known as "gas fees." At the moment, these fees are very low. They're at their lowest since five years ago. Practically, this means it's very cheap to use Ethereum at the moment.

Why?

Well, some feel it's due to the fact that users have been trying other networks apart from Ethereum. It might be faster or even more cheap in running with such networks. Secondly, Ethereum has lately had some major updates which made it work better, therefore, that may be one of the things keeping the fees low.

An expert named Ryan Lee believes this could be great news for the digital cash of Ethereum, called ETH. He says that whenever fees were at this low point in the past, the price of ETH generally increased afterward. So, although there may be quietness at this time, exciting times are brewing ahead.

But It's more complicated than that.

Because of the ultra-low fees, less ETH is being destroyed, burned, if will. In effect, more ETH will be created than before. Of course, some people worry this might moderate the value of ETH, others, however, think the possible price increase will matter more.

It is just the way it goes, interesting to think of a busy network like Ethereum being at quiet periods. It only serves as a reminder that, in the age of digital money and networks, everything occurs with a flux.
