About a month ago i came across this post by @elcomentador about [Delete auto-voting] his comment curation trail.
i replied in a comment expressing some concerns, and i was satisfied, for now at least, with his replies.
i began the call to action steps in the above linked comment (copied and slightly edited below) to begin to support the project, but am now only just getting round to completing it.

i intend to monitor the comments which are being [Delete auto] voted and after a trial period, perhaps one month, i will decide whether or not to stay on the curation trail.

First of all, what a pleasure to see a post from you talking about our project. I had been meaning to comment, but I've been busy. But I'm here now.
I should perhaps make a slight clarification and that is that the post you commented that time and to which you make reference here, was a request to the developer (I do not mention it to not make more spam haha) of Hive.vote to add the option to vote comments. Fortunately, we achieved the goal and now Hive has the opportunity to, through that app, set up curation trails to only vote comments or also vote comments. it's really cool!
I further appreciate the fact that you instruct others on how to join the trail and I'm more than pleased that you joined yourself. Rest assured that your vote will be well managed by voting comments that bring value to our platform.
I am both surprised and pleased that you passed the test XD, by evaluating us with Hive Stats. I know we are not perfect, but we seek to curate quality comments and to the greatest number of people. We want to keep growing and support like this is favorable.
We want to keep growing our HP and thus better reward those quality and valuable comments out there.

On the other hand, I notice you've been posting lately on Dbuzz, do you always get good rewards from there? Because usually from there you hardly get any votes or much interaction. At least that's my experience.

I've only been posting on dbuzz recently because voters and rewards have dropped in last few day. Previously i was avoiding Dbuzz as i wanted to only have auto-voters and high rewards fir long form quality content
No i dont use Discord as it is centralised and censoring thus contributing to the #massmurdermachine
i use Bee Chat (on peakd) or telegram (for now but also censors and is centralised). For decentralise encrypted comms i use Session and Element. Drop me your choice (apart from Discird) on Bee chat please

I don't think auto vote to comment will contribute some value to hive blockchain. I have not tried the platform yet but on the base of my imagination ,i think it will promote Fake ,Spam . The purity of Hive will be compromised as people will suspect about comment and think its not done by real account holder.
i understand your point of view, but if @elcomentador is reading the comments and is only voting (with a suitably adjusted vote weight) on "good" comments, which increase meaningful engagement, and thereby increase the quality of connection between users of Hive , then i see it will be good for Hive. As i say, i will be watching, and will report back.

I understand your position, and I share it. I wouldn't want to see Hive filled with spam or bot votes. That's why in every vote we evaluate that whoever is behind that comment is a real person, who genuinely interacts. We do not encourage votes for fake accounts or empty comments. In fact, we support a contest where they give answers to riddles or mental challenges and I have spoken with the author and promoter of the post, that from now on I will only value creative answers or that encourage the community, that the effort of author of the comment can be noticed.
I allow myself to vote for your comment since I consider valuable what you refer in it.

Yes, this is more so than on other platforms. Yet we who recognise this need to be particularly thoughtful and truthful and kind with our posts and comments. yet not to shrink from speaking truth whenever it is necessary, even though feathers will be ruffled sometimes. Does Epicentre $EPIC have a decentralised community consensus mechanism to enable community governance in non-violent ways? i know that the lead Dev @snider of #Lethean (a privacy coin and DVPN) is investigating & intending to implement such a system for it's community governance. i mean, how can any project be considered as truly decentralised unless there is decentralised community governance system?
Great question @atma.love and as a community member of $EPIC since September, 2019, I can tell you non-violent community governance is definitely in the Epic Cash DNA. While this is and always will also be at the core of bitcoin's DNA, it has been twisted into an ASIC centralized perversion of bitcoin known as BTC making it impossible for ordinary people to have any valuable stake in governance.
The ECR token is the lifeblood of the Epic Cash ecosystem DAO governance model. ECR tokens are the non-violent instrument of governance held by our community members which enables us to create proposals and vote on them. This could be used as fundraising decistions for things like tree planting, contracted 3rd party code reviews, adjustments to the Proof of Work algorithm, and really just about anything the community deems worthy.

There will be various ways to aquire ECR. Airgrabs, earning via DAO governance proposals, and staking are some ways. Balancer Liquidity Bootstrapping Pool (LBP) is also being explored which is a tool to setup liquidity and it serves the purpose of making ECR available as well as finding fair market valuation.
The initial release is distributed to EPIC holders (10.8M), ECR DAO Treasury (4.2M), Advisors, Seed Investors, Ecosystem (5M), and the Epicenter Equity Corporation (5M).
The inflation beneficiaries are allocated as follows: ECR DAO Treasury 30%, Epicenter Equity Corp 30%, Stakers 10%, Welcome Future Freeman Fund 10%, ECAP 10%, ECR Governance working group members 10%.

Yes, ECR has made it's way onto DeFi platforms such as quickswap and Polgygon but only in limited amounts to test functionality in liquidity pools. Early contributors have also received some ECR. There was a snapshot back in February for EPIC holders and that ECR should be released next. There could be another snapshot for EPIC soon. It was announced that there would be a second snapshot for EPIC holders but that was delayed. We should hear more about it this month. I'll ask some other team members about that.
I'll ask about the status of our existing governance workgroup in telegram and invite you. It will get more use as the governance website comes online and more people have ECR and proposals to work.

Awesome! Well done. Yes, there is a learning curve and they are working on an improved UX for us. My problem was forgetting to switch addresses sometimes and on the new address it would look like all my funds were gone! Actually opened a ticket for that one time and then was like... oh, ummm nevermind! hehehe They are a pretty cool small exchange with some interesting and FOSS technology

It is reasonable to set up an auto-vote for a writer who continues to deliver quality, it's a way to ensure he gets rewarded every time (since he is trusted to produce quality), but I don't see any sense in setting up an auto-vote for comments or even voting your own comments.
For sure not for voting my own comments. I never do that, and am pretty sure that this auto-vote trail won't give my own vote to my own comments. i will check.
Also, i will be checking to see if @elcomentador will only be voting on "quality" comments with vote weight adjusted dependant upon the quality of the comment. This is subjective of course, we will see how it goes.
i am, for the moment, trusting that @elcomentador is doing a good job, but am reviewing.

Would you consider it inappropriate for me to rate some of your comments with our trail from time to time? While our trail is not intended only for those who delegate to us or follow our route, if any of them make a comment of value or quality, we can encourage them with our trail.

No self-votes, no bot voting. All our votes are manual. We go through each comment reading and valuing according to what we consider can contribute to the author of the post, as well as the effort and dedication that the author of the comment made had.
We are not perfect, like any healing project we can make mistakes, by omission and by commission. But we seek to value and encourage Hive users. We believe in engagement.
For this Auto voting I'm yet to know how it works.
Is there any robot that do the auto voting for them or they do it by themselves.

Thus, the votes are made by us, we do not use any bot for it. 100% manual, we only automate through Hive.vote the voting of the route, as many do to vote the publications.

You may be right. But what if the curation trail is being manually created based on the quality of the comments (as it appears to be in this case), and as a result, the person whose auto-vote has been applied goes to look at those comments and adds some meaningful engagement (if appropriate)? Could that possibly be a good thing?

To explain, I think upvoting comments is extremely important, because that´s encouraging engagement and interactivity (a key feature on this social platform compared to others), I do upvote ALL meaningful comments on my posts to at least above the dust treshhold.
But comments are very different in nature and not all warrant an upvote. A comment trail is fine, but only if those are manually selected. The header was about auto-voting comments which is a completely different story.
