What I think is that the average number of 1000 words + posts are more organised and selectively chosen which has a greater output and quality. If a post satisfies the readers interest, then its more likely to get support, regardless of the size.

Invariably the good posts are those that has a diverse and funny way of presenting the excerpt and the above detailed quantities also has a major role to play.
