TenNapel even though a lifelong artist and creative, is a conservative Christian who has have often contested with Hollywood Progressivism. TenNapel has a blue collar pedigree, and named Earthworm Jim after his older brother Jim - a long haul truck driver,
TenNapel took to Twitter on Saturday and posted:
No, you take a step back and do the thing with the face. I was a conservative American when all of big tech were still going down on Obama. Your paint is still wet.To a hammer, everything is a nail, and to a big tech billionaire, every problem in America is a shortage of Ai programmers. My brother is a long-haul trucker, his hands are covered in grease and people like him have carried this country long before we were taken over by iPhone and TikTok. We just want to know that our plumbers and cashiers will get a break. You need to see their plight as an emergency on par with not enough programmers. If you lived our life and got out of your space you'd understand better. Probably more like when you were sleeping on the assembly line at Tesla.And we will also go to war with you on this issue in a way that you can't comprehend because we've been in it our whole lives and you just left the anti-America side three years ago.
TenNapel was reacting to a post by Musk, where Elon encouraged H1-B visa skeptics to "....FUCK YOURSELF in the face!"
TenNapel has succinctly captured the fear of many Americans, that they are viewed as fungible components in the grand visions of great men and techno oligarchs. The Elon Musks of the world in TenNapel's view don't, and perhaps can't, see the hardworking blue-collar Americans who's efforts built and sustained American. These Americans created the very country and opportunities that allowed for an Elon Musk to build a rocket ship and look to the stars.
Elon Musk appears to be driven by an arguably positive sentiment, but Americans are worried about the particulars of these plans and policies, the devil is in the details. Musk should take a moment to listen and hear the real concerns of the American people, and make a better articulation of his own competitive vision for America.
