#AskLeo - What is your motivation?

Hi,

this would be my first post under #askleo, the initiative started by @acesontop.

The question is quite simple, for an easy Sunday, but the answer might somewhere a little complex.

What is your motivation?

What is your drive to get up every morning and beat the day? What are you dreams and what do you fight for?

Mine can be easily guessed from the picture above. It is my family, everything I do, I do thinking of them. I'm not in here for the Lambos or Teslas for the newer trends (where I like more a Lambo then a Tesla, due to the thing that a Lambo you really own and a Tesla can be killed remote by Tesla if they want to).

Also I'm not into party and women, not that I'm against them, as I had my share of fun in my youth, maybe the portion was to big as it lasted into my early 30's. Everything changed exactly 6 years ago, when my wife entered into my life. Since then I have different views and targets which shifted again two and half years ago when our son was born.

I aim now more freedom and free time. For freedom a certain financial level is needed where are days that I want to take off and don't have to wait that a boss is yelling at me or miss a part of the grind, just days where I want to travel, enjoy nature and see my kid grow.

For this I have to be debt free or have a certainty that the debt I have is paid easily by my passive , income that also is covering my cost of living. I have debt in high 6-figures and I manage it and keep my family save and provide for them, but not without working a job and the side hustles.

I can tell you that I can sleep at night, which is a good thing, as I had times for weeks, where I could not sleep longer than 2-3 hours, now it is fine, as I get my 5-6 hours of sleep as the system works. I'm a very fast rat in the rat race.

Now my motivation is to get out of this situation and change the system so that it is working for me, not me working for it. Easier said than done.

I enjoy playing with my kid, there is no more satisfying thing than this.

Sometimes I think of people that complain that they have to pay for kids they've had abandoned and really can't understand them. Dude, you brought this kid to life, so better pull your shit together and help this little human grow and care for him as what you or his mom did to each other does not matter. I'm far from being a morale compass, that is for sure as I do bad and nasty stuff, but family stays first.

So for me my family is my motivation, the fuel of going the extra mile(s).

What is your motivation?

For me, it is the freedom! Growing as a child in a totalitarian communism regime, I know for sure why freedom is non-negotiable... I'm born to be free! Everything I do is to keep my freedom. Financial freedom (never had a debt in my life). Free to speak my mind, free to travel, free from any interference of others!

Freedom is important and yes, money can give us freedom!

Interesting view on debt, as I have plenty, which I use only for leverage and come faster to my financial freedom.

Not having a debt help me to take paths which came with great results on the long term , but otherwise would have putted me in the situation to not have enough to pay my monthly obligations. Yes, you might loose invest opportunities, but gives with the freedom to explore new ways...

From this point of view yes, I understand it perfectly. Especially if the opportunity is scalable and can bring a lot of results faster!

The same dream and motivation every German has: to rule the world some day and have the faith of humanity in my iron grip

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

:)

Most Germans I know have this desire washed out of the brains and apologise also for the ones who have it.

Well somebody has to uphold the tradition! :^)

You can call a Russian friend for competition, as they still have the same dream! :)

Hey @thatgermandude, here is a little bit of BEER from @alexvan for you. Enjoy it!

Some noble goal you have here. Mine is buying myself as much free time as possible and stay away from regular jobs and stressful businesses.

In the end it is the same goal, only mine is with another defined purpose after the goal is reached. :)

I've thought about motivation while working on Hive projects. Usually, it starts with "I'm creating this because I think something like this needs to exist". This initial inspiration wears off about 6 weeks into the project, and a higher calling is needed.

A few examples of higher calling are "education" and "communication". A project needs to continue because it provides value by broadcasting knowledge.

You are pretty high on Maslows pyramid! As thinking like this, is a sign of higher and more evolved needs!

Thank you for sharing your motivation with us.

Maslow’s pyramid ... never thought about it like that. I am grateful for my circumstances. Self-actualization is something to aspire to.

I try to see how people respond on their surroundings and Maslow can describe well the environment of a person. Most people on this planet are on the first two steps and won't probably climb hgher.

It’s true, there are many forces pushing downward like gravity keeping people at the bottom of the well.

I think cryptocurrency could shift the balance. Like Saifedean Ammous discusses, Bitcoiners shift to low time preference. They prefer to do activities with long-term, intrinsic rewards. This happens knowing wealth will grow over time.

Did not have Saifedean Ammous under my radar. Thank you for this tip!

His book “The Bitcoin Standard” is a must read!

My motivation has a name:

Her name is Daniela, three years ago she came into my life giving me a new world, full of joy and colors. This little girl is the one who makes me get out of my bed every day and pushing me like a little motor that drives me to get ahead, to decline and fight every moment.
Post on the Leofinance platform to secure your food, betting Leopower so you have a better future.

My other motivation is Maritza, she is my mother, she is my warrior, the one who has taken care of me, she has been my friend and companion, she has always been with me through good and bad ... Always what I most desire for her is the best , that is why every day I strive to provide better stability ...

Thanks to these two people I go forward every day, thanks to leofinance and what they make life in them to their users and curators for contributing that grain of sand that I need every day to get ahead ...

Thank you Celimar for stopping by. Daniela will be so proud of her mother in 20 years and the fight she had to give her the best there is, despite the hard situation in your country!

I hope that it will get better soon and you can live a normal life as everyone is supposed to.

Solving problems is my motivation

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

You are a higher human being! That to me and to Maslow pyramid of needs!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

My motivation is financial freedom, for me and as many people as i can! Also, i really like that your family motivates you and gives you power to aim for more!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Nice to see your aim and that you want to have it for a lot of people on the way! Hope we all are going to achieve it sooner than expected, even if we need to work a little harder for it!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

I think we are motivated by the same thing--family. I want my family to be fine. I want my sisters to attend decent schools. I want to be able to cater to my mother. I also want to be financially free. That's what keeps me going every day and hopefully, soon my dreams and hopes will become a reality.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Even if does not seem so, you live in an emergent country with a young population that will explode and this will bring a lot of opportunities with it. Just keep on what you do and invest wisely and the future will be yours!

Is it bad that I have a hard time answering this question?

I think for me my motivation is experiences, I want to experience and live life to the fullest. For me this means, adopting tech like crypto, continue travelling across North America, Europe and Asia. Road trips, parties, cottaging, athletic competition, meaningful work, it's all part of experiencing life.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Question is easy, answer is very hard!

I see you want to experience life, which is one of the best things to do. Life is so short and we never know when it ends, we only know it ends! It would be a pity not to live it to it's fullest.
