Indonesia’s Ministry of Agriculture reports a 23% increase in overall coffee production between 2014 and 2022. However, a slight decrease of 0.6% is expected between 2022 and 2023, indicating stabilizing but fragile growth.

Despite increased production, robusta prices in Indonesia have skyrocketed from around $180 to $240 per 60-kilogram bag—a 33% increase in just a year. This surge is primarily attributed to climatic fluctuations that have caused extreme weather conditions, disrupting consistent coffee yields and raising prices.
