The international community, including ASEAN, has called for an end to violence and a return to dialogue, but progress remains elusive. The ASEAN summit’s five-point consensus, aimed at halting violence and fostering negotiations, has seen little tangible progress. The Myanmar military continues to use overwhelming force in resistance-held areas, targeting villages and ethnic territories with airstrikes, executions, and scorched-earth tactics.
