Part 4/12:
The ongoing conflict has plunged Myanmar into an acute humanitarian crisis. Over 6,000 civilians have been killed since the military seized power, and nearly 16,000 remain in detention, many of whom are educators, activists, and pro-democracy supporters. The economy has suffered a catastrophic downturn: GDP contracted sharply, inflation soared to nearly 18%, and the national currency lost half of its value. Foreign investment has all but dried up, and sanctions have taken a toll, pushing millions into poverty.
