Limited Public Awareness of Autonomous Driving Technology

The conversation begins with an acknowledgment of how little the general public knows about the advancements in autonomous vehicle technology, specifically Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) system. An estimation is made that only about 0.145% of the U.S. population is aware of what is coming in terms of autonomous driving capabilities. Given the population of approximately 343 million Americans, this translates to roughly 243 million people who drive cars, but only about 4 million possess Teslas, with an even smaller subset—around half a million users—having access to FSD.
