As the aircraft re-entered its final approach phase, it appeared to overshoot the runway, performing a teardrop maneuver to line up for a go-around or landing. Despite efforts to stabilize the approach, the plane was ultimately too close to the runway when control was lost.
Surveillance footage shows the aircraft impacting the ground at or near the end of runway 28, with wreckage scattered at the runway's extremity. The crash resulted in a major fireball, and rescue crews found the aircraft destroyed on arrival.
