OpenAI’s reliance on corporate funding creates a web of circular dependencies. Major investors like Microsoft and Nvidia are set to benefit handsomely from OpenAI’s growth, primarily through the sale of hardware, cloud services, and access to AI models. The larger societal contract seems to be: Trust us to build the future, and we’ll deliver it—eventually.
