The journey toward lasting peace in Mindanao is far from over. Ten years after the landmark peace agreement, the region remains at a crossroads. The remaining weapons, unresolved land disputes, clan rivalries, and threat of extremism pose formidable obstacles. Yet, the sheer perseverance of local leaders, the hope of a better future, and international support form a foundation upon which a peaceful, stable Mindanao might one day flourish—if only the fragile threads of peace are carefully maintained and strengthened.
