Part 12/14:
Further Developments: Solar and Climate-Resilient Solutions
Indonesia is exploring hybrid solutions such as floating solar panels on reservoirs like Jatigede Dam, which covers 4,100 hectares. These solar installations aim to produce around 100 MW by 2024, providing a sustainable energy source that complements hydropower.
The Jatigede Dam further supplies water for irrigation, supporting over 9,000 hectares of farmland and enabling rice production—making West Java a leading rice producer. Farmers like Kadirinribut credit reliable irrigation systems for their successful harvests, highlighting the interdependence of water management and food security.
