In Singapore, premium Japanese bread, known as chopan, is usually found in upscale shopping malls. Recognizing a gap in hawker centers, the founders decided to bring this delicacy to the heart of the local community. Inspired by travels to Japan during university, they fell in love with chopan and dedicated months to perfecting their own recipe. Today, Butter Town boasts 16 flavors, with six available daily, including the popular original with sea salt and French butter, renowned for its fragrant aroma and chewy, mochi-like texture. Despite limited familiarity among Singaporeans, these breads are seen as addictive and worth discovering.
