Cultivation and Harvest Details
Rick Chang, a seasoned mango farmer, owns a sprawling 9-hectare orchard with 1,500 mature Harumanis trees. He notes that the unique limestone-rich soil, combined with hot weather, is ideal for producing the sweetest mangoes. However, climate change poses threats—unseasonal rains can diminish fruit sweetness, and the short harvest period from April to June adds to the challenge.
