As the genre matures, a noticeable trend emerges: superhero battles frequently occur in the air, often with flying characters. On paper, this makes sense—if a hero can fly, then logically, the conflict should take place in the skies. However, when both combatants can fly, the choreography and cinematography become more complicated.
Example 1: The Avengers (2012)
In the original Avengers, Thor and Iron Man combat each other while flying. Despite their abilities, the fight remains largely grounded within the landscape—flying around trees, falling through branches—rather than soaring freely. This grounded approach maintains visual clarity and physical impact, preventing the scene from feeling weightless or disconnected.
