In honor of the centennial, Warner Brothers is developing a series of short films—20-minute adaptations—featuring beloved titles like A Star is Born, Robin Hood, Calamity Jane, Jack and the Beanstalk, The Prince and the Pauper, and Rebel Without a Cause. These are not mere remakes but reboots that aim to reinterpret stories with emphasis on diversity, inclusion, and social justice.

Six filmmakers are spearheading these projects, tasked with incorporating a "modern lens" into narratives that, historically, were centered around predominantly Western and often white characters. The studio is doubling down on casting minorities in leading roles—often against the original canon—and adjusting storylines to reflect contemporary social priorities.
