One concern expressed was whether her family would accept her religious conversion and the changes that came with it. She shared that her parents still see her as their daughter and that her parents’ role remains unchanged in her life, regardless of her religious choices. She emphasized that the Quran advocates for respecting and serving parents irrespective of their religion.
Despite her parents' support, her father remains uncomfortable with the religious changes, leading to separate family gatherings: one with her father and another with her mother, brothers, and husband. Her mother and brothers, however, are very supportive of her and her children's upbringing, appreciating the multicultural household they are fostering.
