However, a caveat is necessary. The ego—our self-centered identity—can readily hijack this process, turning coincidences into affirmations of personal importance. For example, seeing the number 11 repeatedly might be a genuine sign, or it might be an ego-driven attempt to feel special or chosen. Genuine synchronicities, however, do not flatter or inflate the ego—they challenge and humble us. They offer insights that feel "right" beyond personal desire, often pushing us toward growth or humility rather than pride. The key is to notice whether these signs elevate or humble us: the authentic signs connect us to something larger, not reinforce the ego.
