The Gap Between Perception and Reality
Despite rigorous cleaning routines and the use of products claiming to eliminate 99.9% of germs, the results tell a different story. Microbiologist Dr. Bintu Ahijo from the National University of Singapore explains:
"Every human sheds hundreds of millions of bacteria daily. Not all bacteria are dangerous—some are actually beneficial. The key is maintaining a healthy balance."
She further clarifies that most disinfectants do not eradicate all microorganisms and that over-sanitizing can be counterproductive, possibly disturbing our natural microbial balance.
