Part 4/11:

Jeremy Lim, a healthcare analyst closely monitoring Singapore's response, emphasizes the reality that no country is entirely immune. "We are a very porous country," he states, pointing out that international travel introduces a constant risk of imported cases. Due to the nature of COVID-19 being an exponential disease, a single imported case can rapidly escalate if not contained—it multiplies from 1 to 2, then 4, 8, 16, and so forth.

Lim predicts that the second wave will most likely occur during the Northern Hemisphere's winter months—December through February—when colder conditions lead people indoors, increasing transmission risks. Although Singapore doesn't experience winter, the influx of travelers from cold countries poses a substantial threat of imported cases.
