As cities gradually reopen, the lingering scars of loss and trauma remain. Yet, the fight continues. The nation remains steadfast, building systems that can respond more effectively. The overarching hope is that never again will India face such devastation, and the sacrifices made—by frontliners and civilians alike—will forge a more resilient future.
In the words of many volunteers and healthcare workers, this is a call to action: If not now, then when? If not me, then who? Every effort, big or small, contributes to healing a battered nation and ensures that the devastation wrought by this second wave is not repeated.
