There is optimism that mutual recognition of COVID-19 vaccine certificates between Malaysia and Singapore will open a pathway for easier cross-border movement. As both countries intensify their vaccination efforts, the concept of a vaccinated passport or digital swap kits becomes more plausible. This could enable vaccinated individuals to travel between the two countries with reduced restrictions, possibly once-weekly or monthly, easing the plight of long-term stranded residents.
