Part 1/10:
Pioneering Climate-Resilient Winemaking in Thailand and Embracing Sustainable Business Practices
Unconventional Viticulture in Thailand's Kaujai Region
Since 1998, Gomonte wine has challenged the common perception that grapes flourish only in high-latitude, temperate regions. Nestled three hours from Bangkok in Thailand's Kaujai region, Gomonte has successfully cultivated renowned grape varieties such as Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Shannon Blanc in a tropical climate. The winery operates at an altitude of 350 meters above sea level, which provides a cooler environment conducive to ripening grapes during Thailand's dry and cool winter months.
