Malaysia’s meteorological department reports that climate change—driven by global warming—is causing more intense thunderstorms and unpredictable weather patterns. From 1981 to 2021, Malaysia has experienced a steady rise in average temperatures by 0.02°C annually. Warmer temperatures lead to more moisture in the atmosphere, resulting in heavier storms and disrupted fishing activities.
