Most individuals who posted pictures did so either out of self-awareness or—more often—unawareness of how they were perceived. One example includes a man who admits, "I'm okay, not stunning, but nicer looking than I used to be," despite clearly not fitting the conventional standards of attractiveness. Others covered their faces or wore gaudy attire, seemingly desperate to avoid scrutiny but also inviting it. Commentators joked about identities resembling caricatures—such as a "morbidly obese L)< model," or comparing a woman with brightly colored hair to an evil scientist or a horror villain.
