Part 2/13:
On October 12, 2002, twin explosions rocked Kuta's vibrant nightlife district. The first attack was carried out by a suicide bomber, followed by a more powerful blast in a van parked nearby—targeting Paddy's Pub and the Sari Club, two iconic nightspots. The attack was orchestrated by Jemaah Islamiyah (JI), a regional terrorist organization linked to Al-Qaeda. The assault not only inflicted mass casualties—over 200 killed and hundreds injured—but also devastated the island's economy and reputation as a tourist haven.
