Part 7/12:
- Microplastics: A concerning discovery was the presence of microplastic particles in some bottled waters. SAMPLES revealed up to 11 microplastic particles per liter—a potential health concern, given that microplastics have been linked to reproductive and organ health issues. While research is ongoing, the presence of microplastics raises questions about bottled water safety.
Can Bottled Water Improve Your Health?
While natural mineral waters contain trace elements beneficial to the body, the amounts are minuscule—so small that they are unlikely to contribute meaningfully to daily nutritional needs. For example, high-calcium mineral water might have only about 17 parts per million (PPM) of calcium, far below the 1,000 mg daily recommended intake.
