The summit's discussions also highlighted the contradictions of climate commitments—many nations encore commitments to reduce emissions while simultaneously maintaining reliance on coal and fossil fuels. Indonesia's own energy transition, for instance, is paradoxically powered by a coal plant, illustrating the challenge of balancing development needs with climate goals.
