Many of these students shared that they did not initially plan to disclose their genders until after university, aiming to achieve financial independence first. However, circumstances often led them to come out earlier than expected. For instance, one student recounted the emotional process of sharing their identity with close friends and attending university preemptively as their true selves. The university appeared supportive, such as through welcoming emails referencing gender-neutral facilities, yet the journey remained emotionally complex.
