One of Gak Nara’s heartfelt aims is to foster understanding and unity between North and South Koreans. She shared her dream of being seen not as a defected North Korean but as a Korean who simply migrated from the northern part of the peninsula. Her ultimate goal is integration—living as an ordinary South Korean without prejudice or discrimination, and being recognized as part of the broader Korean community, regardless of her origins.
