The Waja Hassan brothers were among the most feared gangsters in Singapore during 1972. Armed with pistols supplied through smuggling networks and participating in multiple armed robberies, they became symbols of lawlessness. Law enforcement efforts included a series of arrests, shootouts, and chase operations. Mustafa Hassan was shot in a firefight with police but survived, while Wahab Hassan managed to escape, becoming a fugitive.
