The youthful energy in Asia’s protests has already yielded tangible results: in Indonesia, legislatures scrapped unpopular policies; in the Philippines, investigations into corruption have been launched; in Nepal, the appointment of an anti-corruption interim prime minister shows hope.
However, many youths acknowledge that their protests are only the beginning. They emphasize the importance of organization, political engagement, and institutional reforms to ensure sustainable change. For instance, young Mongolian parliamentarian Singun Sarro Saihan advocates for more inclusive policies, increased youth representation, and reducing barriers to political participation.
