With The Acolyte alone costing around $180 million, the lack of viewership and interest suggests that the franchise may be better served by returning to theatrical releases, which historically generated higher revenues and audience engagement.
Indeed, Disney might be re-evaluating the long-term viability of their streaming-only approach for Star Wars, especially given the cumulative failures and audience fatigue. Releasing some of these projects in theaters could offer a chance to recoup lost investments and reignite interest in the franchise.
