Reports indicate that Disney plans to reduce its Star Wars TV output from approximately two live-action series per year to one, in an effort to salvage the franchise and prevent further financial hemorrhage.

Since the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Disney has shifted largely to streaming, producing numerous series in a bid to keep the franchise alive. However, the results have been mixed at best. The Acolyte, a highly anticipated but ultimately polarizing series, marked the end of a successful model—its poor performance lighting the way for possible reassessment.
