Part 4/13:
Yonauni, a small Japanese island located near Taiwan, has suddenly found itself at the center of geopolitical attention. Both Japan and the United States are actively reinforcing defenses there, recognizing its potential as a crucial barrier against Chinese military advances. Recently, Japan deployed sophisticated medium-range missile systems to Yonauni, including the Type 03 SAM (Surface-to-Air Missile) system. Capable of tracking up to 100 targets simultaneously, these missiles can intercept 12 targets at once and reach altitudes over six miles, with a range of approximately 31 miles. Timed at Mach 2.5, these missiles are akin to a “missile porcupine”—a metaphor for a highly effective deterrent that could make Chinese cruise missiles, aircraft, and helicopters vulnerable.
