Many Marvel fans and industry insiders agree that the franchise has entered a period of turbulence. The recent Thunderbolts (now titled The New Avengers) opened with approximately $74-76 million, a disappointing figure for a Marvel movie, and one that places it at the lower end of Marvel’s financial spectrum.
